See, that's why I like to tape the games even when I attend so I can see these controversial plays. Unfortunately I didn't tape Sunday's game so I could only see what happened live.

I'm not surprised Linden pulled that crap; he really looked like a child yelling and throwing things out there.

I don't understand why these batters who crowd the plate act surprised when they get knocked off the plate. What pitcher is going to let a power hitter crowd the zone like that? It's a part of the game and as long as the pitcher isn't headhunting I don't see what there is to complain about. If you don't like it take your walk/dead ball or make the pitcher pay with a hit.

Being at the game and not having the benefit of replay you may have had a different perspective on the bench clearing incident.

On the pitch before the altercation Linden had squared to bunt, when he pulled his bat back the end of the bat hit Satozaki's face mask hard enough to turn it on Sato-chan's face.

On the replay it is clear that Linden's back foot was stepping on the inside chalk line, and the front half of his foot was out of the batter's box.

When Satozaki confronted Linden the first thing he did was gesture to the ground (referring to Linden being out of the batter's box?)

I don't know if hitting the face mask was intentional retribution for some brush back pitches, but finding your back in the dirt sometimes is the price you pay for hanging out over the plate like Linden does.
